History

The Mt. Pleasant Heritage House was founded and organized by a group of concerned family members whose heritage in Cleveland centered around and in the Mt. Pleasant area. This family of educators, artists, writers and administrators came with a definitive burden for African American people, culture and community to form the Mt. Pleasant Heritage House. They saw the need for increased awareness, appreciation and promotion of African American culture within the African American community.
